Epiphone Les Paul 7-String Guitar

Studying or practicing Ear Training?  If you're a musician, you should be.  You'll find my Palm software Ear Trainer invaluable.  Also, I teach guitar lessons in Orange County, CA.  (See OCGuitarLessons.com)

Epiphone made seven-strings for a year or two around the year 2000.  About the time they stopped, it seemed the market for seven-string guitars had been pretty sated and the prices were kinda low.  I bought this guitar new off eBay for $250, while the six-string version was going for $300-350--What a deal!

This guitar is terrific.  I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good seven-string.  This must be the only guitar I've owned that I haven't customized (apart from the commonplace removal of the pick-guard...and the less-common removal of the pickup selector switch knob 'cause it got in the way of harmonic-slapping techniques...and I painted the tops of the cream-colored pickup brackets black).

Lately I've borrowed a trick from Charlie Hunter and put black-tape-wound Rotosound bass strings on for my three lowest strings, to diminish the treble and sustain of those strings and make them sound almost like a bass guitar.
