A Comparison of New Guitar Methods

Studying or practicing Ear Training?  If you're a musician, you should be.  You'll find my Palm software Ear Trainer invaluable.  Also, I teach guitar lessons in Orange County, CA.  (See OCGuitarLessons.com)

For 6- & 7-String in Standard & Uniform Tunings
Intervals:  Standard Tuning, 6-String

The interval shapes would be something like this:

except everything on the first and second strings must be shifted upward (toward the bridge) one fret.  So actually the shapes of the intervals are as follows (depending upon which string the root is on):

Root on the 6th String

Root on the 5th String

Root on the 4th String

Root on the 3rd String

Shapes with the root on the first and second string don't span the irregularity in the Standard Tuning.  They following the beginning of the essential shapes first shown above.

Root on the 2nd String

Root on the 1st String

The exceptions above are unnecessary--and the essential shapes may be followed directly--in All Fourths Tuning or Major Thirds Tuning.

(Under construction....)
