Four Humbuckers & F-Holes
Having all four humbuckers on was one of my favorite tones ever. The arrangement is sensitive to a fuller range of partials/harmonics, and just has a more well-rounded timbre, sounding less tinny and electric. Actually, I don't even have the retro knobs hooked up to do anything. It just combines and delivers the pickup signals directly for maximum harmonics, ala Tuck Andress' setups.
While I was cutting into this guitar to install the pickups, I discovered the body was actually semi-hollow, so I cut simplified f-holes as an experiment. (They didn't end up adding anything to the sound that I can tell...but I think they look cool.)
